Essay - VEGETARIANISM - Portugal

VEGETARIANISM
In fact, our health is a consequence of our diet, our eating habits and our attitude towards life.
Eating fish or meat is for me a cruelty to animals, harmful to the environment and bad for our health.
In the US 27 billion animals are killed for food every year! Animals are raised in cruel conditions (factory farms) to provide food in great quantities.
A vegetarian diet is full of all the nutrients that we need and protects us against cholesterol, diabetes, obesity, some types of cancer and heart strokes.
Feeding the world population with vegetables and cereals would be easier, more efficient and healthier. It would be more beneficial and less pollutant.
It is also said that eating meat makes people more aggressive.
Maybe, one day, the human beings will realise that we should respect animals and protect the environment.
